"I will place shepherds over
them who will tend them, and they will no longer be afraid or terrified,
nor will any be missing," declares the Lord.

Who's Who?

Vestry
The Vestry is the governing board of the parish. The Vestry consists
of the Rector, a Senior Warden, a Junior Warden, and lay members
of the parish. Each month the Vestry meets to discuss the business
of the church and acts as an advisory council to the Rector. Meetings
are prayerful, follow Roberts Rules of Order, and general address
the financial and spiritual challenges faced by the parish. You
may bring concerns to the Vestry by speaking directly with any
Vestry member at any time. |

Val, Senior Warden (Class of 2009)
I am very active with the website and children's ministries at St. John's.
I have a passion for the inclusion of children in all aspects
of parish life. As we learn to embrace children in new ways, we
often reap unexpected rewards and occasionally face challenges
that demand creative solutions.
I have been blessed to attend the Start Up Start Over conference
and am just finishing a degree in Business Management with a strong
emphasis in developing leadership skills. I love the Lord and am
amazed by His grace. My spiritual journey is new, but the Holy
Spirit is planted deep within my heart. |

I have served on Vestry five times during the 30 years that I
have been a member of St. John's, twice as Senior Warden. The financial
stability of St. John's has occupied a lot
of my
time
the past ten years and my attention is currently directed towards
- Gift of Thanks Program
(A fund that will benefit future inreach
and outreach ministries)
- Finance Committee
I attended the Start Up Start Over conference
in Orlando in 2005. There are many
exciting possibilities for our church that were presented to
this conference. Oh, if I just
had the time!!
My real passion is natural resource management -- the caring
for and helping others to
become aware of and to get involved for wise use and management
of our natural
resources -- God's great gift to us all. My motto is "I
care not the less for man, but for
nature more." I have been doing this for over 51 years and
still get excited with the
thought of doing something for God's great earth. Genesis 1 is
my guiding light and
Psalm 24 is my inspiration in the dedication of my life's work.
My spiritual journey started when I was a little kid growing
up on a farm. I was in awe
of the land, the growth of plants, animals, the interrelationship
of land, sun and water.
I was so fascinated with water skippers walking on water in the
small stream on our farm
that when I learned about Jesus walking on water, I knew that
it was possible. I have
been in His care ever since. |
